Purple Swans Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshop

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders. 

Training Format: Taught in English, group discussions, role playing, watching video, practices, etc.

Time: 9:00am-3:00pm April 22 2023 

Location: Zoom

Registration Fee:  $10 /person. (The course value is $250, the rest of the cost is covered by a generous donation from the Purple Swans Corporation)

“青少年心理健康援助”课程主要针对与青少年接触的成人（ 如父母，家庭成员，老师，教练等）。通过培训，学员可以了解青少年面临的心理健康挑战，探索青少年青春期发展常态，学习一套颇具实用性的“五步操作方案“，从而能更好的帮助青少年。

培训形式：英文授课，小组讨论，角色扮演，观看录像，练习等

培训时间：2023年4月22日 9:00am-3:00pm

培训地点：Zoom
