Last night’s Purple Swan Charity Gala was truly a beautiful celebration of art, culture, and compassion. It is remarkable to see how the Purple Swan team continues to refine and elevate their performance every three years, showing both dedication to their craft and commitment to their cause.

The event not only showcased spectacular dance performances—especially the stunning variety of traditional Chinese folk dances—but also reflected the organization’s heart for nurturing new talent. Their efforts to train and inspire new learners have clearly borne fruit, as each performer carried both skill and spirit on stage.

The evening was filled with grace, goodwill, and purpose. It was a powerful reminder that when art and charity come together, they can create something truly meaningful and enduring.

I had the pleasure of attending Purple Swan’s Charity Gala, “Let the Heart Dance,” on November 1, 2025, and left truly inspired. Seeing so many dear friends on stage—after months of training for this once-every-three-years signature show—was pure joy, and their dedication came through in every step. Under Mrs. Lucy’s caring leadership, the production was exquisite: from the flow of the program to the music, costumes, stage design, lighting, and sound, every detail felt thoughtfully tuned. I loved every piece—each with its own character. Just as moving was the atmosphere in the hall: friends and families cheering, hugging, and happily reconnecting; it felt like a community celebration as much as a performance. As the president shared, one mission of the gala is to raise awareness, and that purpose was matched by action: all net ticket proceeds were donated to the New Jersey Mental Health Association. I sincerely hope Purple Swan’s remarkable gala continues, bringing people together and making a positive impact for years to come.

Purple Swan’s Let the Heart Dance in 2025 was an unforgettable experience that transported me back to China. The performance beautifully highlighted the diversity of China’s ethnic groups and their unique cultural expressions, while also blending Eastern and Western styles with grace and creativity. Every detail—from the dancers and choreography to the stage design, costumes, and music—was executed with exceptional artistry. It’s truly inspiring that such a polished, professional production was brought to life entirely through the dedication and passion of volunteers.

This is truly the most outstanding Chinese cultural dance performance I’ve seen in my 30 years in America. I am deeply proud of all the dancers—each balancing professional careers and personal responsibilities—yet still dedicating their time and passion to deliver such a breathtaking performance. Their artistry, discipline, and generosity are profoundly inspiring.

What moves me most is their spirit of **charity through dance**—they dance not only for passion but also to give back to the community. Their kindness and beautiful hearts continue to illuminate and uplift everyone around them. The time, effort, and dedication they devote are beyond words—absolutely admirable and unforgettable.

Warm congratulations on the successful completion of the Purple Swans dance performance. The Purple Swans performance was absolutely amazing. As someone who used to dance with the organization, I can say that it is programs like these and role models like Lucy and all the other incredible women that have fostered my growth and inspire me every day to be compassionate and intentional, and it’s so important for me as a young Chinese American to connect to my culture in this way. The performance was so touching, especially the piece with Uncle Wang Jin, Auntie Chen Lei, Grandma, and the little sister’s heartfelt performance. Seeing pictures of my late grandfather brought me and my brother to tears; it was a truly beautiful choice by Lucy and the creative team.

The Purple Swan – Let the Heart Dance performance, was a breathtaking celebration of Asian heritage and artistic expression. The dancers combined traditional movements from Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan and many more dance forms with modern choreography, symbolizing unity through diversity. Each segment paid tribute to ancient customs of respect, honor, and gratitude toward family and parents, a theme deeply rooted in Asian culture. The colorful costumes, and graceful gestures told stories of dynasties, festivals, and timeless love for one’s homeland. The music blended classical Asian music with contemporary melodies, reflecting both cultural richness and artistic evolution. Overall, the performance was not just a dance, it was a heartfelt journey through centuries of history, artistry, and shared human emotion.  This was my first time attending the performance, and I genuinely enjoyed every moment of it.
